If you borrow material from the library and don’t return it by closing time on its due date, you will have to pay late charges. Fines can be paid at the front desk; we accept cash, cheque, or debit. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the following table, which breaks down our late charges on a per item basis:
You can also accrue fines if you lose or damage library material. In these cases, you’ll have to pay the replacement cost of the item, which varies based on the material in question, plus a $7.00 processing fee. An item is considered lost or stolen if not returned within 30 days. If you find an item you lost after 30 days we can waive the replacement fee, but the processing fee will still apply.
Please note that if you accrue over $10.00 worth of fines, you won’t be able to borrow more material until your fines are paid.
You can check if you have fines to pay by logging into your account online. Click on the “My Account” drop down menu at the top of the screen and select “”Fines & Fees.” From there you can see the charges against your account.
