The Booksale is Back On!

You`ll find a full selection of items (books, VHS, audiobooks) on a rack in the entrance area of the library.  Monetary donations for items you want to take home are appreciated, and will be accepted at the front desk.

New in the Booksale - Audio books on cassette - we've removed all cassettes from the collection, so look for these items in the Booksale soon.

Looking for a New Job?  Look no Further
The Library is hiring a full-time program staff member.  This is an exciting position for the right person.  If you are interested in working closely with the public, getting to know your community better, reading stories and leading crafts, then this could be the job for you.

Calling all Genealogists!

An exciting new database, Ancestry Library Edition is now available at the library.  This database is only available at the library, so you have to come and visit us to access all the great resources.

This is the library version of the popular home genealogy tool, ancestry.com.  Ancestry Library Edition accesses thousands of databases and billions of names from documents from the 1300s to present day, from the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.  There are historical maps, draft cards from World War I, census records, vital statistics, parish records, family trees, ships' passenger lists, and much more.  The database is updated often, with more original images added all the time.

Reminder: This database is only available at the library.

Read with the Raiders!  Last Meeting of the Season Tuesday, February 28 at 5:30

Meet members of the Prince Albert Raiders for stories, crafts, games, treats, and autographs.  We`ll be making a Howie Hockey paper craft.  You can also sign up for Read with the Raiders at the main desk after the first meeting.  Everyone will get a reading log to keep track of the time you spend reading and information about the program.

The club member who spends the most time reading will receive an award at the Read with the Raiders Club Finale at the Art Hauser Centre.  The lucky winner will also get to watch the game from the comfort of the SaskTel suite, courtesy of SaskTel, one of the sponsors.

There will also be a draw for one club member to be a reporter for a day with the Prince Albert Daily Herald.  The winner will sit with a Herald reporter at a home game, interview the players, and write a story that will be published in the newspaper.

Read with the Raiders is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Prince Albert, SaskTel, Prince Albert Daily Herald, and the Prince Albert Raiders.
